Frequently Asked Questions
‘Fused Granulate Fabrication’ is an additive manufacturing technique that utilizes similar extrusion technology to that used for injection molding. Material in pellet form is supplied to an extrusion screw that rotates, heats, and presses the granulates down to a molten homogeneous mass. The mass is pressed through a nozzle and is then deposited onto a build platform at a constant speed and cross section of the respective model. After each layer, the build platform is lowered and the next layer is added.
Pellet extrusion technology serves as the foundation of Fused Granulate Fabrication.
Pellet extrusion technology allows users to drastically increase the volume of material being extruded compared to traditional 3D printing methods. Additionally, materials with much higher levels of filler, such as glass or carbon fiber, introducing materials to additive manufacturing that are stronger, more resistant to heat, more insulative, or more conductive than traditional 3D printing methods.
JuggerBot 3D manufactures industrial-grade 3D printers that are uniquely capable of processing performance thermoplastics. In both filament and pellet form, our machines are designed and capable to print with a variety of materials, including commodity, engineering-grade, and high-performance thermoplastics from third party suppliers.
You can check out our Materials page for more information on materials compatible with our 3D printers
No, material dryers are included with both filament and pellet-based systems
JuggerBot 3D pre-installs slicing software to generate tool paths, programs to control and calibrate machines, and even monitor builds in real-time.
For more information, please see the Features pages for both filament systems and pellet systems.
Supports can be generated automatically, or customized using the pre-installed slicing software. Our filament machines come standard with dual extruders, enabling a support material to be used, if desired.
Every JuggerBot 3D printer can receive files through USB, Wi-Fi, or Ethernet.
JuggerBot 3D offers on-site operator training for all users, which can be requested in the ‘REQUEST A SERVICE’ section of our Services and Support page. Users can also receive remote support through their machine’s interface.
